A couple of sour notes: This has almost certainly been made into a game before by someone. It would require a large number of players.
On the plus side, a lot of the rules would write themselves. It's mostly scheduling, but other considerations too.
What's the goal? Fun I guess. You are competing to get more points than everyone else. And yet there would be an extraordinary amount of co-operation, accomodation.
A bunch of players trying to get together with people to play games. Over the course of a week or so Jeff will host game night on Thursday, and Sally will host game night on Saturday, etc.
Somebody works M-F 9-5. Somebody works a more dynamic schedule. Unexpected things come up, from philandering to funerals.
You don't know how much you will like a game if you have not played it. There is one game, Word Massacre, that you find unattractive, wrong category. However, it turns out you have fun playing it once you actually play it. Life is like that.
You will have favoured games which you want to play.
Game categories. Some people like Euro games. Some like dice chuckers, Ameritrash, combat. Abstract strategy games are a niche taste, and not for groups anyway. Some people don't like stock market games. And some people don't like dexterity games. Fat fingers. Have you ever tried exercising just your finger?
Player count.
Galaxy Empire III would take hours and hours to play. Fillers are short.
Maybe Jane will only play when Jeff is with her. Some players are not so welcome, for example Reginald the rules lawyer.
You can't play a game if you don't have it.
