Konane
Konane ("Hawaiian Checkers" has a nice ring to it) is a unique yet underappreciated game from Hawaii. Players only move by capturing opponents' pieces by jumping over them. The last player to do so wins. This gentle game is not won by attrition; it is won by position.
How good is this game?
Konane is a great game. It has substantial game play, yet the rules are very
simple. It's not like anything you've ever played before.
Is this the best game in the world?
Construction notes:
The unprecedented unicolour design makes it easier
to set up the 64 pieces. Once you start playing the game
you quickly forget about the novelty of the design.
9 x 9 inches (23 x 23 cm.) cork on hardboard with 64 pine pieces.
